参加者の皆さんの普段の行いが良いおかげで
とても良いお天気に恵まれました。

黒潮漕カヌー選手のサポートを受け
自分たちでカヌーを漕いで駿河湾を満喫してきました。

自然の素晴らしさとチームワークの大切さ.....
色々と感じることが出来ましたね。

An impossibly short list of things you can give away at the Really, Really Free Market includes: books, magazines, clothing, food, bicycle parts, drinks, vegetable starts, shampoo, tools, CDs, furniture, extra fruits or veggies from your garden, appliances—whatever you think would be useful to someone else.

Why hold a Really, Really Free Market?
-- Because sharing is more fulfilling than owning.
-- Because as a community we have many more resources than we do as individuals.
-- Because if we share our resources we will need to use fewer of the Earth`s resources

Please help keep the Umegaoka classroom clean. The one rule we ask of participants at the Really, Really Free Market is that you take home anything that you are not able to give away.

ハワイ アウトリガーカヌーコンテスト！

１９日、湘南　江ノ島片瀬海岸にて行われた「ハワイ　アウトリガーカヌーコンテスト」に行って来ました。

開催予定の「OEK英語でアウトリガーカヌーレッスン」講師の現役カヌー選手が出場するので

熱い声援を送りとても感動的な試合を観戦することが出来ました。

日本１位になった経験のあるチームだけに白熱の展開に会場はこの日一番盛り上がりました。

メン・レディースチームとも２位の好成績！！

また、全日本で１位狙えること間違いなしです。

レディースチームの一員が、OEKに通う生徒さんのママさんです♪

試合終了後の活き活きした笑顔がとても素敵でした。

ハワイの空気を感じるアウトリガーカヌー。

これから益々輝いていくスポーツだと思います。

FAMILY ENGLISH

Hi everyone !

This May we started a new kind of class at OEK called "Family English". It is a unique lesson in several ways.......

• The lessons focus exclusively on the English we use every day at home with our families.
• Students may bring their children to class with them anytime.
• Your English ability level does not matter, as I am able to explain new words and phrases in Japanese.

Some of the things we do during our lessons include role-plays, learning new vocabulary through games, talking about the daily activities we do, and what we say to our children.

The class is open to anybody who wants to learn English related to everyday family life. We currently have a class every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 11:10~12:10 at the Umegaoka classroom. Why don't you come and try ?! We have a lot of fun.

『ファミリーイングリッシュ』

皆さん、こんにちは！
今年の５月から新しいクラスが誕生しました。“ファミリーイングリッシュ”というクラスです。
ユニークなクラスで通常のレッスンと違う点がいくつかあります。

●家庭で使われる英会話を学びます。
●お子さんをレッスンに連れてきてもOK。
●ビギナーでもご心配なく。わからない単語や会話は講師が日本語で説明します。

レッスンでは会話のロールプレイ練習をしたり、ゲームをしながら新しい単語を覚えたり、
日々のことを話したり、子供への語りかけのフレーズを学びます。

家庭の中で使われる英会話を覚えたい方はお待ちしております。
現在、梅が岡教室で11：10-12：10の時間で火曜日と木曜日に開講しています。

今までは、雨漏りが原因で活躍どころか....困った存在だったのですが

この度、防水対策(先日の台風の雨でも大丈夫でした)＆イメージチェンジをしました。

これで、またしばらく物置として活躍できそうです。

Back at OEK!

Wow it's hot in Japan.....I went back home in New Zealand for a couple of weeks where it's winter, coming back here I can really feel the difference. Recently all my classes begin with people saying atsui neee......
Today is a special day for me, it was exactly on this day 1 year ago that I came to Japan. I still remember the first days I was here very well. It was super hot last year too.

A lot has happened for me and for OEK in this last year. I'm looking forward to another great year at OEK. Recently we have opened 2 new beginner courses at the school, Cynthia is taking one class and I'm taking the other class.

It has been very interesting to work with a beginner class, I have to use a completely different way of communication which is different from my other adult classes. I am enjoying the challenge, it is one of the things I like about working here, the many different kinds of people that come to learn English at OEK.

ただいま！
あ～日本は暑いな。実家のニュージーランドに数週間帰ってたんだけど、今向こうは冬。夏と冬はやっぱり全然違う。最近、僕のクラスでは“暑いね～”の声でレッスンが始まります。
今日は僕にとって特別な日。日本に来てちょうど１年経ちました。今でもその日のことをよく覚えています。めちゃくちゃ暑かった。
この１年は僕にとってもOEKにとっても、いろんなことがありました。今後の１年もいい年になるといいな。
ここ最近で２つのビギナーコースが始まりました。一つのクラスはシンシアが担当し、もう一つは僕が担当しています。
ビギナークラスでは会話のアプローチも様々で楽しいです。いろいろな人がいていろいろな方法でコミュニケーションをとるのはやりがいがあり、それは僕がここで働くのが好きな理由の一つです。
