Well, it's been a long time since I last wrote something here. The weather is getting better, I can stay at home without putting on the heater. That being said, even when I used the heater/air conditioner I still did it in an eco way....... I'm quite happy that my power bills this winter are much less than last winter, but I suppose that heating a 6 tatami room is not that hard.
Golden week, it's still 2 months away but we gotta start planning now. Since everyone is on holiday tickets to go places become quite expensive, especially plane tickets. Last weekend I went on the internet and got a ticket to go to Singapore for a few days during golden week, I reckon if I had bought it earlier it would have been cheaper. Oh well...... It's still cheaper than a ticket to Singapore from New Zealand.

最後にここに書き込みをしてから、かなりの時間が経ってしまいました。天気も良くなってきているし、家に居る時にヒーターをつけなくても良くなりましたね。とはいっても、ヒーターとか、エアコンを使っていた時もエコ的な方法をとっていましたよ。
今年の電気代は、去年よりもずっと少なくて本当に良かった。でも、６畳の部屋を暖めるのはそんなに大変じゃないけど。
ゴールデン・ウィークはまだ２ヶ月も先ですが、今から計画を立て始めました。みんながどこかに行くのに、休日のチケットに詰め掛けたとたん、値段が高くなりますもんね。特に飛行機のチケットが。
先週、インターネットを開いて、ゴールデン・ウィークに数週間シンガポールに行くためのチケットを買いました。もしもっと早くに買っていたら、もっと安かっただろうと思います。まぁ…ニュージーランドからシンガポールに行くチケットよりはまだ安いですよ。

Ode to Kotoe
Our lovely long-time manager, Kotoe, will be going on maternity leave starting from next week. As she is expecting a little one anytime now. While I know everything at OEK will be okay, I can't help but feel saddened by this fact. Kotoe's smile and her positive attitude are contagious. She will be missed!
In celebration of her pregnancy, Ksenia, Kim and I threw her a baby shower last Satuday. A baby shower is a way to celebrate the expected birth of a child by presenting gifts to the parents at a party. The term "shower" is often assumed to mean that the expectant mother is "showered" with gifts! Plus, there is a tradition to play fun games that somehow relate to babies. I think everyone that attended had a really great time. Here are some pictures from the evening.
I just want to wish Kotoe the best of luck with her pregnancy! We love you, Kotoe!!! You will be missed.

私たちのマネージャーをずっとしているKotoeが来週から産休に入ります。そろそろ小さな赤ちゃんが生まれてくるでしょう。OEKは大丈夫だってことは分かっている一方で、この事実が悲しくなってしかたないです。Kotoeの笑顔とポジティブな行動は周りにも影響を与えてくれます。きっと彼女が恋しくなってしまうでしょうね。
妊娠を祝うために、KseniaとKimと私（Katie）は先週の土曜にベイビー・シャワーを開きました。ベイビー･シャワーっていうのは、生まれてくる赤ちゃんの誕生を、その両親にパーティでプレゼントをしたりしてお祝いするものです。”シャワー”っていう言葉は、出産前のお母さんがプレゼントのシャワーを受けるという意味があると考えられています！さらに、なにかしら赤ちゃんに関連した楽しいゲームをする伝統もあります。
参加した全員が、本当にすてきな時間を過ごしたと思います。その日の夕方の写真をちょっと載せますね。
Kotoeの妊娠がうまくいくように、ただ祈るばかりです!
大好き、Kotoe!!!あなたが居なくて寂しくなってしまうわ。
